Intervention Mechanism
A multistakeholder group established to strengthen transparency, accountability, and participation in relation to the MXN 6.2 billion infrastructure loan contracted by the Government of Jalisco during the COVID-19 recovery period.
Initiative Summary
Composed of representatives from the private sector, civil society, media, and academia, the oversight committee (Comité de Seguimiento) was established to monitor the transparent and efficient use of resources, aligned with the objectives of economic recovery and job creation.
Practice Lesson
The initiative demonstrates the value of a multistakeholder approach in the planning, contracting, and execution of infrastructure projects. The evaluation report found the experience to be worthwhile and a significant learning process for both the committee and the government, helping to make the use of resources more visible and transparent to the public.
