Intervention Mechanism
A public maintenance platform combines citizen defect reports with live maintenance information. Citizens can report infrastructure problems through photos. The platform also shows where maintenance crews are working. This makes reported defects, maintenance activity, and service follow-up more visible.
Initiative Summary
In Cali, the Mayor’s Office co-developed a maintenance map and feedback system with civil society, businesses, and the media. Citizens can submit photos of infrastructure defects through a simple form. They can also see where maintenance crews are working and what activities they are carrying out.
Practice Lesson
This initiative demonstrates how citizen reporting and maintenance tracking can strengthen oversight during project delivery and operation. It makes defects and maintenance responses easier to compare. This helps identify gaps between reported problems, crew activity, and visible service follow-up.
